Privacy Policy
Owe You One (“we,” “us,” or “our”) explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Owe You One mobile application and related services (the “App”).
1. Who this app is for
Owe You One is designed for adults in a two-person relationship who want to log and reflect on everyday acts of care. The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
2. Information we collect
A. Account information
- Email address
- Password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we do not store plain-text passwords)
- Account identifier (user ID)
B. Profile information
- Display name
- Notification and haptics preferences
- Device timezone (for reminders and weekly note timing)
- Push notification token and device platform, if you enable notifications
C. Relationship and pair data
- Pair membership and invite codes / join requests
- Pairing date
- Pro subscription status for the pair
D. Content you create
Shared only with your paired partner (not publicly):
- Acts (name, category, effort, timestamp) and reactions
- Optional photos attached to acts
- Life events and supportive nudges
- Custom categories, shared background image, personal reminders
- Weekly Love Notes (generated and stored for your pair; Pro may use AI)
E. Product analytics
Limited in-app events (e.g. opening, sharing, or exporting Love Notes; Pro paywall impressions) tied to your user ID and pair ID. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
F. What we do not collect
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or microphone/audio recordings.
3. Device permissions

4. How we use your information
- Create and manage your account and pair
- Sync your shared ledger, acts, photos, and notes
- Send notifications you opt into; schedule reminders
- Generate weekly Love Notes (including AI for Pro)
- Process Pro subscriptions and unlock paid features
- Improve the App and provide support
5. AI-generated content (Pro)
If you subscribe to Pro, weekly Love Notes may be generated using artificial intelligence. Our servers may send your pair’s logged act data for the relevant week to OpenAI to generate the note. We do not sell your data to AI providers. Generated notes are stored in your pair’s account.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With your paired partner — content you log is visible to them
- With service providers — Supabase (auth, database, storage), Expo Push, RevenueCat (subscriptions), OpenAI (Pro Love Notes), and Apple / Google (payments)
- For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect rights and safety
7. Storage, security, and retention
Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security so users can only access their own profile and their pair’s shared data. We retain information while your account is active. You may permanently delete your account in the App (Us → Delete Account).
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may access, correct, or delete your information, opt out of notifications, or withdraw consent. Contact privacy@oweyou.one.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy and will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
