Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Owe You One mobile application and related services (the “App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Owe You One helps two people log everyday acts of care, stay in sync, and (with Pro) receive weekly AI Love Notes woven from those acts. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use by adults.
2. Accounts and pairing
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure.
- You may pair with one other person via invite code or join request.
- Content you create in a pair is shared with your partner.
- You may leave a pair or permanently delete your account from Us settings.
- If you are the pair creator and dissolve the pair, shared history may be deleted for both of you.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (acts, photos, notes, life events). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the App for you and your partner — including generating Love Notes when you use Pro.
Do not upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (and optionally a lifetime purchase) through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in App Store / Google Play account settings (or via Manage Subscription in the App where available).
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies — contact them for billing disputes.
- Prices shown in the App may vary by region and are set in the store.
6. AI features
Pro Love Notes may be generated by third-party AI (currently OpenAI) using your week’s act data. AI output can be imperfect; treat notes as reflective, not professional advice. See our Privacy Policy for how that data is processed.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, harass, or harm others through the App
- Attempt to access another user’s account or pair without authorization
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that Love Notes will meet particular expectations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Owe You One and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amounts you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if you use only the free tier).
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service (with reasonable notice when practicable).
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
